“Cool it Off” treats

Oreo Ice Cream Bliss
1 quart of vanilla ice cream, softened
1 regular package of oreos, crushed
1 regular size tub of cool whip

Mix everything together and put it back in freezer till you serve it!

Jodi’s Maw Maw’s Poke Cake
1 pkg. (2-layer size) white cake mix
1 cup boiling water
1 pkg. (3 oz.) JELL-O Strawberry Flavor Gelatin
1/2 cup cold water
1 tub (8 oz.) Whipped Topping, thawed

Prepare cake batter and bake as directed on package for 13×9-inch pan. Cool cake in pan 15 min. Pierce cake with large fork at 1/2-inch intervals.  Add boiling water to gelatin mix in small bowl; stir 2 min. until completely dissolved. Stir in cold water; pour over cake. Refrigerate 3 hours.
Frost cake with whipped topping. Refrigerate 1 hour.

Sam’s Chocolate Cherry Trifle
1 box of your preferred chocolate cake mix
1 large box vanilla pudding
1 large container of cool whip
1 can of cherry pie filling

Prepare cake as directed on box and set aside to cool before assembling trifle.  Also prepare pudding as directed and refrigerate before assembling trifle.  Allow cool whip to thaw before putting trifle together.

Chop up cake into 1 or 2 inch squares.
Put half of cake into trifle bowl and top with half of pudding, a layer of cool whip and half of cherries with juice.  Repeat those layers.  Finish off by topping with cool whip.Refrigerate a couple of hours before serving.
Producer Emilie’s Maw Maw’s Nectar Soda
3 cups sugar
1 1/3 cups water
1 Tablespoon vanilla extract
1 Tablespoon almond extract
3-4 dashes red food coloringBring the sugar and water to a boil over medium heat and let bubble briskly about 30-40 seconds.  When cool to touch, add flavoring and coloring. This does NOT need to be refrigerated. To make the nectar sodas, put 3-4 tablespoons of the nectar syrup in a large glass, add a scoop of vanilla ice cream and fill the glass with COLD club soda.
Lemonade Cheesecake Pie
1 (9 inch) prepared graham cracker crust
3/4 cup frozen lemonade concentrate, thawed
1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, softened
1 (14 ounce) can sweetened condensed milk
1 (8 ounce) container frozen whipped topping, thawedIn a blender, combine lemonade concentrate, cream cheese, and condensed milk. Blend on medium speed until mixture is smooth. Transfer mixture to a bowl and fold in whipped topping. Pour mixture into graham cracker crust. Chill before serving.
