I know pills, shakes, and patches help some people lose weight, but it’s not for me. So this post won’t be about that magical thing I’ve done to lose 10 lbs. I’ve basically been seeing a trainer for almost 6 weeks now, twice a week, for 1 hour of intense cardio and weight training. No – I won’t bulk up b/c of the weights! Something I learned – women REALLY need to do some weight training, especially as we age.
So I’m down 10 lbs thanks to these two days a week and watching what I put in my mouth. In case you didn’t know – I. Love. To. Eat. I’d eat cheese fries, brownies, chocolate chip cookies, and burgers every day if I could! So I’m not good 100% of the time. I try to focus on really healthy breakfasts and lunches during the work week; keep my portions sensible at dinner; and then on the weekends….well it’s the weekend! I like to indulge in ONE meal over the weekend and am more relaxed about the rest of my meals.
The biggest thing I’ve found that works for me (that I NEVER though would) is GOING to these classes (with two other girls) twice a week! ACCOUNTABILITY is HUGE. I kept telling myself, “I’ll go work out today after work.” and I never was! Or I’d hit the elliptical for 30 mins and not lose weight…
So now I’m trying to come up with a plan for after this class is over (it ends Wednesday!). I think I’ll keep attending classes (different kinds) b/c I really find I like them!
What do you do to lose weight?
Best of luck! Emilie
