Jodi

I am a busy working redheaded mom/wife/friend who’s never really grown up at heart!!   Doing the show is probably the perfect job for me – since I love to “play” here with the guys every morning.  Murphy and I couldn’t stop gazing into each other’s eyes when we first started, so we got married (seriously, he’s my best friend).  We have 2 beautiful daughters who challenge and delight us.  We also have 5 dogs (can you say pack?) that we are in love with and addicted to.  I am passionate about saving homeless animals, binge watching tv shows and getting a great deal on clothing & shoes.  I was raised a country girl, and she does still live inside of me.

🙂

Welcome to my happy place.

this morning conversation was the list of passwords everyone uses and how silly they are and uncreative. i totally agree. the question was asked, “why dragon and monkey were on the top 10 list?” it is because of the chinese calendar, but that is really funny…..just a thought!

Good Day! I’ve missed Mark in the mornings but have enjoyed your show and at least get to hear Mark on my way home. Welcome. This morning there was a comment about facebook accounts when someone dies. I remembered a clip on the Today Show about a son who killed himself and the parents are beside themselves and wondering what happened when they saw no warning signs. Facebook would not, “due to privacy laws and agreed apon privacy with it’s users”, give the parents access to his page. They were hoping to get answers from his site that might explain, “why”. The father is a lawyer and knows the system better than someone like myself and is fighting to get access. I hope he wins. Someone is always responsible for closing up accounts when someone dies, I believe that with proof of death, an authorized individual should be able to close up a facebook account. Have facebook put out a notice that the individual passed away, maybe post his or her obit but not allow further replys to the account and eventually close the site. Not sure about releasing the content on the site but I feel for those parents and think they should be allowed some answers. Food for thought.

Oh, I’m 45 and don’t have a Facebook account. I don’t like the thought of others reading my comments and really don’t have anything worth while to post, besides, not everyone has that much time or desire. Though it was useful for my husband when he was organizing his 30 year high school class reunion and was trying to locate people.

Have a Good Day!

Some places you may find insects. Have you tried under leaves or old fallen logs or branches? Try to find an area where there is woods and look for them there. Another way to kill them is put them in a jar with some paper towels with finger nail polish on it, not soaking though. My husband and boys used to collect insects when they were young. We still have our insect collection from then. My husband is an entomologist so that helped. Good luck!

Hey Jodi. Heard you talking about the new “little” pet y’all got. Thought you might be interested to know that owning a pet turtle with a shell smaller than 4″ is illegal. I saw a link today on yahoo.com/healthy-living about a huge salmonella outbreak because of pet turtles. I have two kids too, a 10 year old autistic son, and a 11 year old daughter. Mother-to-mother, I’d hate for one of your girls to get sick. It’s just not worth it when there are so many other choices for a pet. Love you guys, listen to you every morning!

I heard you discussing a book about the changes over time to Christmas (ex. no animals in the manger). What was the name of the book that you were referring to?

Love! Love! Love ya’ll!! 96.1 radio station always stays on in the car and work and home!! I have grown so fondly of Jodi! She is so real and true to everything. Just by listening to her, makes you feel as if you are one of her besties and can relate to almost everything she talks about. Being a parent, and listening to her talk about her kids on the air, its so refreshing and comforting, just a sweet home town, next door neighbor whom I have grown to love and can’t wait to hear what she has to talk about next. Thanks for being just “You” Jodi!! Please don’t ever change!!!

Love the show. I’m posing this to Jodi, as she would be impartial. haha.
I just gotta say, is it me, or does Sam’s voice match Murphy’s face — and vice-versa? When I first saw their pictures after listening, it was clear to me that Sam’s voice goes with Murphy’s face and Murphy’s goes with Sam’s. But, alas, it was the opposite.
Sam just doesn’t “look” like he’d have that voice, if that makes any sense. Am I alone in this??
Has anyone experienced this before? Where a person doesn’t “look” like their voice, and you’re kinda thrown for a loop? haha. This probably would make a good Seinfeld storyline.
Anyway, love the MSJ gang — great show and keep up the good work!

I love your show!!! In the past week you and the guys were talking about Phoebe and her cellphone. Jodi mentioned that maybe Phoebe needed some cellphone rules. I would love to see a list of the rules that Jodi and etc. came up with.

Thanks,
Beth

I Love listening to you guys in the morning. And i heard about this NOT so serious book club. I do have a book series that is very interesting. Its called “The Immortal Nicholas Flamel” each book has its own name “Alchemist”, “Sorceress”, Etc. Its a fantasy story Based in the now. And it makes you believe that Magic is real Bringing forth people from the past as immortals. Its a great story and I just wanted to share. If you like Fantasy this is definitely a Book you wont be able to put down.

Hi Jodi,
I had a similar surgery 3 years ago. I had two neuromas done and had two screws put in my second toe to repair a previous broken toe when I was a child. I had to sit with my foot elevated for a couple of weeks. I hate pain meds too but, found that I had to stay on them for 3 weeks. I was off work for 3 weeks and had a lot of pain for the entire time. Take the time you need and don’t rush things.

I really enjoy listening to yall while I’m at work. It’s one of the safer channels that doesn’t play music that constantly swears or is degrading. I just wish it wasn’t the same playlist every single morning. I love you guys, but think you could switch it up a bit?

All the best! 🙂

Some great books to consider Jodi, especially if you want Murphy to enjoy some wonderful fiction. The following authors are a sure fire way to spark interest. I have converted several male family members who would not read fiction with these writers:

1. Wilbur Smith _ great man size adventures set in Africa. Be sure to read them in order if you want to follow some of the history aspects. He is so great!!!! (My sister met him on a plane to S.Africa & she told him that his books were the reason she and her hubby made so many trips to Africa.)

2. Stuart Woods, read “White Cargo”, a book you can’t put down!

3. Elmore Leonard. Read”Get Shorty” and then see the movie, for once the movie script follows the book and John Travolta is perfect in the role he plays. Follow that up with “Be Cool”

4. Jason Pinder read his first book, he is young so still has a lot of writing to do, can’t remember the title, but I read it in one night, it was that good.

5 Lee Childs- The Jack Reacher novels are really wonderful.
Like you, I am a big reader and would rather read than watch TV anytime, unless it is a movie based on one of my favorite books. I hope you read this and take a chance on any of these great guys!

Love your show & you feel like family to me every day!

Jodi, One morning this week I was just getting into work and heard a snippet of you talking about your hair. I think you were saying what you had done to make it grow. I’m really interested. Let me know. And a great BIG thank you for the Christmas music!!

Hi Jodi, my wife is a published local author and has released a new novel. We would love to give you guys a copy to read. It’s called “Burial in Endwater” and is a riveting page turner. How would we go about getting it to y’all? Thanks!

Jodi,
Try cooking chicken in bag to make your soup. Bone and all. When it’s done it will fall off the bone and it’s all in the bag. Also if you can find a local farmer with bones instead of the store bought. You’ll get a better flavor for your bone broth. Trust me. I raise pastured meats. Surpasses store bought any day.

Hi Jodi, I heard the conversation about you planning to prepare yourself to give your cousin with the special needs child a break at Christmas. As the parent of a special needs child for 25 years now, you could not give your cousin a more needed and appropriate gift. A break from the normal life especially at this time of the year is priceless. It will also let her know that someone else can step in if needed. Please step up and make this happen and get someone else involved so your cousin can have some relief from a very stressful life more often. If you need help, call me I’ll be glad to help. Love the show keep it up!!
