Things Parents Do That Drive Teachers Crazy

Every parent wants to make a good impression on their children’s teachers, but ask any teacher what the hardest part of their job is, and there’s a good chance they will say: parents. So, how do you avoid being THAT parent? Here, teachers from preschool through high school tell us 9 things parents do that drive teachers crazy:

1. Give them yet another coffee mug as a back-to-school gift.
2. Ignore information from the school, and then complain that you don’t know what’s going on.
3. Refuse to put your cell phone away during drop-off and pick-up.
4. Send your child to school with supplies that weren’t on the list.
5. Blame other kids when your child does something wrong.
6. Assume that we don’t like your child because they got a bad grade.
7. Refuse to let your child take ownership for their actions.
8. Ignore our recommendations and push your child too hard.
9. Refuse to put aside your differences for the benefit of your child.

Sam Smith is releasing a new album from before he was famous
Back in 2008, a young Sam cut some tracks at Flipbook Music’s studios. Flipbook have retained the rights to those songs and naturally, they aren’t just going to sit around on them when there’s money to be made! The label have created a music video for the ‘lead single’, titled ‘Momentarily Mine’, which sees a fresh-faced Sam performing on a stool, getting his makeup done and hanging out with friends. 200 musicians voice support for Pharrell and Robin Thicke in Blurred Lines appeal
More than 200 musicians have come out in support of an appeal filed by Robin Thicke, Pharrell Williams, and T.I., after a California jury last year found that their “Blurred Lines” single infringed copyright on a classic Marvin Gaye song. An amicus brief signed by 212 artists — including R. Kelly, Earth, Wind & Fire, and Hans Zimmer — argues that the jury’s ruling “is very dangerous to the music community,” and that it will “stifle future creativity.” Discover more, HERE!

The Best Chicken Salad EVER!?!

If you ever fix or cook anything for Murphy – KNOW that he will say “it’s good – BUT here’s what would make it better.”  I’m okay with it – now.   He inserts his foot into his mouth along with said food. HOWEVER! This week – he told me I’d made the BEST chicken salad he’s ever had. No BUTS! Say WHAAAAT?!

Here’s how I did it.  (easy)

I slow cooked a package of boneless skinless chicken breasts.  Only seasoned them with salt, onion & garlic powder, then put pats of butter on each one.   Slow cooked them for about 6-7 hours.  Then I shredded the chicken with 2 big forks.  You can let it cool and make chicken salad at this point, or refrigerate overnight and then make it.   Either way.  I made mine the next day.

  • Shredded chickenused dinner plate ready for washing
  • Mayo (as little or as much as you like)
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • Onion powder
  • Garlic powder

Viola.  He thought it was the BEST EVER?!   (it IS pretty perfect)  I would have loved to have added grape slices and walnuts.  Add whatever you like!  But for him – simple is perfect.  Enjoy.
