I’m a big fan of classic movies and shows for kids/teens. They do get exposure to conflict, violence, etc., but without such explicit material/exposure. I also like watching documentaries and other historical content shows.

We have been watching oldies but goodies!
We are currently on a “Bewitched” craze, and recently we were watching “Gilligan’s Island” and “Little House on the Prairie.”
“The Middle” is also a good contemporary one.

The Wonder Years is on Netflix and so many topics are still relevant. Perfect for Middle Schoolers and parents.

I have two daughters, 11 and 13. We watch mostly Netflix so I am not sure of the actual network they originally were on. Here are some of the ones my family watches….oldies and currents:

~ What Went Down ~ Cesar 911
~ Gilligan’s Island ~ Andy Griffith
~ CHiPs (funny how my 13 yr old has her watch alarm set for this one)
~ The Great British Baking Show
~ Brain Games ~ Liv & Maddie
~ America’s Funniest Videos
~ Filthy Riches ~ The Brady Bunch
~ I Love Lucy ~ Mama’s Family
~ Murder She Wrote ~ Survivor
~ The Voice ~ America’s Got Talent
~ Duck Dynasty ~ Amazing Race
~ Wheel of Fortune ~ American Ninja Warrior
~ Caught on Camera with Nick Cannon
~ Little Big Shots ~ Shark Tank
~ What Would You Do?

The Middle
Wednesday ABC 7 pm

Excellent sitcom about a family with 3 kids. It’s in its 7th season! Many people haven’t heard of it, but it’s awesome! Patricia Heaton and Neil Flynn star as the parents.

Another great show for tweens would be Treehouse Masters on Animal Planet. It’s a really cool show!

We watch Korean Dramas. They are comical and we read together! Coffee Prince and Boys over Flowers were great!
