Got to be Love Actually!!! Reminds me of home.
Pearl Harbor. It has the 2 best friends and the love they have for each other and the girl. Also, Armageddon. The love between Ben Afflec’s character and Bruce Willis’ daughter and the love Bruce has for Ben’s character and for ultimately his country
I don’t know if you’ve heard of it but my favorite is She’s Having A Baby. seen it many times it still makes me cry.
Catch & Release is awesome. Also, Letters To Juliet. And hands down to PS I Love You.
The wedding planner!
Two other fun movies are Simply Irresistible and Sweet home Alabama!
One to add to the list as we all recognize Valentines Day is ‘Philadelphia’ w/Tom Hanks & Antonio Banderas. Tearjerker, yes, but also a very good film.
An oldie…actually two, both musicals of sorts. The Bodyguard, but my favorite is Funny Girl. Who can not cry as Barbara Streisand sings”My Man” at the end.
Or the Whitney Houston rendition of “I Will Always Love You” at the end of “The Bodyguard”? To me two of the best love story movies.
I really love The Sound of Music. Many might not think of that as a love story, but the Captain and Maria dancing and singing in the gazebo — so romantic and beautiful!! And the kiss == wow!
A really good one despite the name is I Hate Valentines Day.
Shallow Hal
How about 3 Men and a Baby> Boy they loved that little baby 🙂
I simply love The Time Traveler’s Wife. Great love story. And and oldie but a goodie, Sommersby. That one makes me cry too.
“He’s Just Not That Into You”…The Ben Affleck/Jennifer Anniston story line is my favorite one!!! I get choked up every time!!
AND I love that you have Overboard on your list. I can watch that movie any day of the week, it is so sweet and funny.
Goodbye Girl. I love Richard Dreyfuss, he was a nerd before it was ” cool”. I was only 20 but saw this at the theater about 5 times ( before the days of Netflix).
Hope Floats and Practical Magic.
I have 2 movies: The first is The Lake House and the second is Bed of Roses. Both movies are great!
Legends of the Fall
My all time favorite is “Somewhere in time” I cry everytime I watch it!
I love them all…but I will have to say, The Notebook. It sucks me in and I cry every single time I see it. The love he has for her, and the sickness that takes her memories..and he reads their story over and over..it is the saddest yet most romantic movie ever. All the way to the very end. True love.
Tristan & Isolde. Starring James Franco and Sophia Myles. Tristan is second in line to the throne for England and Isolde is the daughter of the Irish King…. She rescues him from death and nurses him back to health not knowing who he is until much later in the movie when he fathers army invades England. Lots of battles for the guys to keep them interested too.
Love and basketball is such a good movie! It starts with them as kids and follows them through adulthood. Definitely a must see.
the Quiet Man. Love it!
It is an unconventional love story, but one of my favorite movies is Brian’s Song. It is a love story between friends who met on a football field. It is a definite tear jerker at the end.
Pretty woman
Sabrina
How to lose a guy in 10 days
“Return to Me” is a touching, funny, poignant, make-you-feel-good film that leaves you feeling good when the film is over.
A much older love story is “Random Harvest” starring Greer Garson. This film depicts a type of love that few could emulate in today’s instant gratification culture.
Lake House
Hi, there! For me the best love story ever is definately “Forrest Gump”, my God, this really made me cried my eyes out, because the way Forrest proves his love for Jenny all the time despite she did not love him at first, the timeless love for his mother and loyal friendship to his best friend Bubba. Unfortunatelly all his love ones died but in the end he has “little Forrest” to be with for the rest of his life.
Wedding Date (Debra Messing and Dermot Mulroney)
Someone like You (Ashley Judd and Hugh Jackman)
27 Dresses (Katherine Heigl and James Marsden)
Funny ones about women who get caught up in their own neurosis’s are apparently my favorites lol
Overboard
MY FAVORATE VALENTINE MOVIE IS “THE LOST VALENTINE” STARRING BETTY WHITE. HALLMARK MOVIE IN 2011. COMES ON TOMORROW ON THE HALLMARK CHANNEL. VERY EMOTIONAL MOVIE.
ALWAYS, a great movie, and love story
Out of Africa
MURPHY’S LAW WITH JAMES GARNER AND SALLY FIELD.
